Why we built Website Rating

Website Rating was built by a founder who wanted a better way to track how startups grow. Most startup directories are static lists - a name, a link, a description that never changes. A startup could be thriving or long dead, and the listing looks the same either way.

We wanted something that stays alive: a directory that follows each startup over time, so you can see not just who's listed, but who's actually gaining ground.

What makes us different

Every startup we list gets its Domain Rating tracked week over week. Domain Rating is a simple 0-100 measure of a site's backlink authority, and watching it move is a real signal of momentum - a young startup climbing steadily is doing something right.

That's the core idea: most directories are static lists; we track momentum. We're upfront about the data, too - ratings come from Ahrefs, and a brand-new startup starts at the bottom and earns its way up, in plain view.
